Restoration & Rehabilitation of Lock 2, East of the Morris Canal​

Van Cleef provided Project Management and Construction Inspection for the Complete Restoration of historical Lock 2 East of the Morris Canal included the Restoration of the Lock structure, the Lock gates and gate mechanisms: the Reconstruction of the Tender’s House and the Operator’s Shed.

The scope included the restoration of the Tow Path alongside of the Canal, the Pedestrian Walkway, the Landscaping and Reconstruction of Public Restrooms in the DPW area in the Borough of Wharton.

The Lock has been extended in Westerly direction by adding a concrete bridge structure connected to the Lock; installation of new timber Drop Gate; installation of the Operator’s Bridge at Eastern end of the Lock and constructing a pedestrian timber Bridge between the Lock and the Tender’s House.
