Van Cleef provided roadway and traffic signal inspection on this $1.9M substantive safety improvement to the corridor and intersections project with a focus on all signalized intersections within the project limits. Intersection improvements with high visibility crosswalk striping, new traffic signal equipment and signal back plates. Construction items supervised and inspected included; ADA compliant pedestrian curbs and ramps, warning surface pads, signal heads, push-buttons, signal timings (including Leading Pedestrian Intervals), Pedestrian Detection System, median crash cushions, corner radius treatment at select intersections, pedestrian-scale lighting corridor improvements. Reconstruction of sidewalk at select locations, high-friction asphalt at select locations to reduce vehicle stopping distance and drainage improvements to address ponding and standing water issues.
