Van Cleef performed a geotechnical investigation at the Branch Village Housing site that is part of the City of Camden redevelopment.
The geotechnical engineering services consisted of performing hollow steam auger borings and split spoon sampling to identify the subsurface soil conditions. Laboratory testing was performed on collected soil samples. Since historic fill was encountered at all of the test boring location, an additional investigation consisting of test pits was performed to further delineate the depth and composition of the historic fill layer.
Van Cleef’s geotechnical engineering personnel reviewed the collected data and prepared a geotechnical engineering report. Our evaluation of the existing subsurface soil conditions indicated that the proposed structures may be supported on conventional shallow foundations consisting of spread footings bearing on the natural sedimentary soils or compacted structural fill. Additional geotechnical engineering and site preparation recommendations were provided.
Van Cleef also provided construction inspection services to ensure that the geotechnical engineering report recommendations were followed.
