PROJECT

Mays Landing Road (CR 561-S) Roadway Improvements

Township of Winslow | Camden County, NJ

Van Cleef was contracted by Camden County to provide engineering design services for roadway improvements within the Camden County right-of-way of Mays Landing Road, from vicinity of Route 73/AC Expressway Ramp to County Border in Winslow Township.

The geotechnical engineering services consisted of performing hollow steam auger borings and split spoon sampling to identify the subsurface soil conditions. Laboratory testing was performed on collected soil samples.

Pavement cores were performed to provide representative samples of both good and failing portions of the roadway. A visual pavement condition survey was performed to select the boring and pavement core locations to assist in determining the possible causes of the pavement failures.

Van Cleef’s geotechnical engineering personnel reviewed the collected data and prepared a geotechnical engineering report. A variety of pavement sections were designed, consisting of full depth pavement reconstruction, full depth reclamation, and milling and pavement overlay, based on collected traffic data. The minimum thickness requirements established by Camden County were utilized where permissible.
