PROJECT

Sharon Station Road (CR 539A) Corridor Improvements

Township of Upper Freehold | Monmouth County, NJ

Van Cleef was contracted by the County of Monmouth to provide design services for corridor improvements to Sharon Station Road (CR 539A). The project includes widening and safety improvements along approximately 1.5 miles of the corridor extending from County Route 526 to County Route 539. Three bridges located within the project boundaries were recommended to be replaced.

Geotechnical soil borings were performed at each bridge to gather soil samples, explore the subsurface soil conditions, and determine relevant soil properties. A geotechnical engineering report was provided which recommended spread footings for one bridge and closed ended concrete filled steel pipe piles for the other two bridges.

The project was designed in accordance with Monmouth County, NJDOT, and AASHTO design standards.
