Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons

Various Locations in Hopewell Township, Mercer County | New Jersey

Van Cleef was retained by the Township of Hopewell to design rectangular rapid flashing beacons (LED) at various locations where the Lawrence-Hopewell Trial crosses major roadways and other key
crosswalk locations within the Township.

The engineering plans and bid specifications called for solar powered rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB). The RRFB system included wireless communication between devices as well as a proximity actuated voice system that assists pedestrians with activation of the lighting. Various design elements including unidirectional lighting, omni directional lighting, ground illumination, sign illumination, advance warning signs and remote push buttons were included.
