PROJECT

Softball Field Rehabilitation at Independence Park

Township of Hopewell | Mercer County, NJ

Van Cleef partnered with Hopewell Township to transform an underperforming, drainage-compromised softball field into a safe, functional, and high-quality recreational space.

Van Cleef developed comprehensive engineering plans and bid specifications to address critical drainage issues that had rendered the field unusable. Improvements included strategic regrading of the field and surrounding areas, along with the design of a perimeter swale system to effectively redirect off-site runoff and prevent future flooding.

To enhance playability and durability, the field was regraded to establish proper slopes, and a new skinned infield and warning track were incorporated into the design.

From initial concept through final acceptance, Van Cleef delivered full-service engineering support—ensuring a seamless process and a successful outcome for the community.
