Germantown Academy embarked on a Master Plan implementation and engaged Van Cleef as its Site Civil Engineer. All administrative and instructional buildings and parking areas were clustered on about 1/3 of the overall campus and this area was separated from the remainder of the overall campus by the Wissahickon Creek. Stream corridors and flood plain issues associated with the Wissahickon, combined with the limited available land area for site improvements, did not permit much design flexibility or permit application of most conventional design solutions.​

With the help of Van Cleef, the school successfully completed a new Middle School addition with new drop off areas and vehicular circulation around its middle school, which included one of the Township’s first underground detention facilities; a new Lower School addition; renovations and alterations to existing parking facilities; a new central Day Care location; and a new Alumni Development House. Since acquiring an adjacent 6.3-acre tract of land, the school was involved in a major renovation of its site access and parking facilities throughout the campus. For this project Van Cleef developed a new main entrance driveway which took advantage of a PennDOT signalized intersection, along with new parking facilities which added 154 new passenger vehicle spaces and 20 bus parking stalls, as well as creating the last link in the campus perimeter roadway system. This link improved campus security and provided for increased emergency service access. Portions of this project included floodplain modifications that resulted in no net fill in the floodplain, and several underground detention facilities within the new parking areas so as to conserve ground for future Master Plan development.
