Van Cleef was contracted by the West Windsor-Plainsboro School District to provide design services related to a two-phase expansion of their existing parking lot and school building. The district continues to experience rapid growth which required the expansion of the high school and parking lot to accommodate current and future student needs.

The proposed design included the reconfiguration of the existing parking lot to increase parking, improve pedestrian circulation, evaluate car and bus turning movements, and provide adequate stacking for student drop- off and pick-up. To accommodate the additional impervious surfaces, a detailed stormwater management design was performed utilizing an aboveground detention basin. Additional design work included parking lot lighting, landscaping, sanitary sewer service, water service, ADA accessible routes, and modifications of Clarksville Road.

As part of Van Cleef’s contract, approvals were obtained from the West Windsor Township Planning Board, Mercer County Planning Board, Delaware and Raritan Canal Commission, Mercer County Soil Conservation District and New Jersey American Water.
