The engineering and surveying division are completely integrated through a state-of-the-art computer network providing automated data sharing capabilities for greater productivity and efficiency. All engineering and surveying computations, together with drafting functions, are CAD-based utilizing the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D software packages. The surveying division field personnel are equipped with Trimble total stations, fully robotic instruments, and GPS receivers. Private sector surveying services include but are not limited to boundary retracement surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, aerial ground control surveys, wetlands location surveys, forensic surveys, construction stakeout surveys, utility location surveys, as-built surveys and preparation of metes and bounds descriptions.
The majority of survey work required for public sector projects includes the preparation of maps that are to be utilized for future engineering design. This “as-built” mapping identifies the position and elevation of various existing utilities (overhead and underground), location and elevations of pavement, curblines, and sidewalk elevations, and buildings.
