Van Cleef provided design services for the replacement of an existing deteriorated 57.85’ span prestressed concrete box beam structure, with new precast concrete box beams with composite concrete deck on new reinforced concrete substructure. The proposed bridge has a 58.8-foot span and a 28.0-foot-wide roadway, for an out-to-out width of 32.5 feet. Project included approximately 200 Linear Feet of approach roadway reconstruction. Bridge geometry included construction of the proposed bridge to meet the existing curved horizontal roadway geometry and existing roadway superelevation, while maintain the existing bridge hydraulic opening. Project included topographic survey, alternatives analysis (for preferred alignment and structure type with cost considerations), geotechnical engineering design, roadway and bridge design, obtaining NJDEP Flood Hazard Area and Freshwater Wetlands permits, detour plan, coordination with Township Officials, preparation of cost and quantity estimates, specifications, coordination with utilities, ROW and Easement acquisition, Working Drawing review and addressing contractors RFI’s.
