Van Cleef provided services to the County of Morris for the Replacement of Bridge 1400-323, Cozy Lake Road over Pequannock River. The new bridge is precast arch structure, closely matching the original arch, on new spread footings. Project elements include increasing bridge width and improving horizontal alignment to the extent practical considering railroad and environmental constraints, drainage design, implementing a long detour route, temporary construction easements, and utility relocations. Footings and wingwalls near tracks were designed so that rail traffic could be supported during construction. This project is designed per Morris County, NJDOT and AASHTO design standards. The project also needed community outreach, including stakeholders in both Jefferson and West Milford Townships.
