PROJECT

Intersection Improvements at CR 537 (Monmouth Road) and CR 524 (Elton-Adelphia Road)

Townships of Freehold and Manalapan | Monmouth County, NJ

Van Cleef was contracted by the County of Monmouth to provide design services for Intersection Improvements at County Route 537 (Monmouth Road) and County Route 524 (Elton-Adelphia Road), Townships of Freehold and Manalapan, Monmouth County.

The intent of this project is to develop construction and bid documents to implement improvements at the intersection of the County Route 537 (Monmouth Road) and County Route 524 (Elton-Adelphia Road). The intersection experienced safety and operational problems, primarily due to a skewed angle approach from CR 524 to CR 537 at a stop controlled, unsignalized intersection. The CR 537 corridor and intersection will be widened, new turning lanes along CR 537 will be provided, and the intersection will become signalized, in order to better accommodate vehicular turning movements, as well as improve safety and and overall traffic operations.

The project involves survey and mapping, ROW and deed documentation, traffic engineering and planning, LOS analysis, evaluation of intersection turning movements and design vehicles, horizontal and geometric design, grading design, drainage design, traffic signal design, lighting design, ADA curb ramp design, utility relocations, maintenance and protection of traffic design and detours, and a soil erosion certificate.
