Van Cleef performed engineering services to the DRPA for the Route 90 Pavement Rehabilitation project located in Pennsauken, NJ. This project consisted of concept development, preliminary and final design, and post design services for the bridges, ramps, mainline, parking lots and service roads at the Betsy Ross Bridge Administration complex and infrastructure facilities on the New Jersey Route 90 approach to the Betsy Ross Bridge including: the Route 90 Bridge over Union Avenue, the Route 90 Bridge over Route 130, the A Ramp Bridge over Route 130 northbound, the D Ramp Bridge over Route 90, the drainage culvert under Route 90, the culverts carrying Pochack Creek under Route 90 and the Betsy Ross Bridge Administration Building, Sign Structures K, L, M, N, O, P and the Cantilever Sign Structure over D Ramp, and the pavement on Route 90 and all ramps under DRPA jurisdiction east of the Betsy Ross Bridge Toll Plaza.
Work efforts included inspections of all infrastructure to develop a condition assessment and safety report to establish the final scope of work. We prepared engineering design plans for milling and full depth pavement reconstruction along the mainline, interchange ramps, and DRPA parking facilities (with recycled ‘foamed’ asphalt). Improvements also included guide rail and guide sign replacements, drainage upgrades, bridge deck reconstruction and repairs, parapet replacements, bearing and joint replacements. Construction support including assistance with the bid process, RFI’s, and Change of Plans.
