Van Cleef provided design services to the County of Monmouth for the realignment of the Stage Coach Road (CR 524) intersection at Monmouth Road (CR 537) in the Townships of Millstone and Freehold, Monmouth County. ​

​The intersection experienced safety and operational problems, primarily due to a skewed angle approach from CR 524 to CR 537 at a stop controlled, unsignalized intersection. The CR 524 roadway was realigned to provide a perpendicular angle to CR 537, improving driver visibility and vehicle turns. A new deceleration lane was designed along westbound CR 537, providing safer right turning movements onto CR 524.​

​The project involved road safety evaluations, traffic planning, intersection and stopping sight distance calculations, evaluation of intersection turning movements and design vehicles, horizontal and vertical geometric design, drainage design, grading design, milling/overlay and new pavement construction, signs, utility relocations, construction staging sequencing, maintenance and protection of traffic design and detours.​
