Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN)

Amelia Earhart Overflow Parking Lot, Ewing Township, Mercer County, New Jersey

The project included planning, survey, geotechnical services, design, permitting, bidding, construction management and construction inspection for a 906-space parking lot, the Amelia Earhart Overflow Parking Lot, at Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing Township.

The parking lot serves as an overflow parking lot for the airport and serves as a rental car parking lot with a rental car support building design to accommodate an automatic car wash system. The support building also contains public restrooms and storage space. Services provided include coordination with all stakeholders, parking lot planning, pavement design, stormwater management design, sanitary sewer extension, water service, gas main extension, site lighting, landscaping, drainage, parking lot revenue system design, metal support building design, and construction management/inspection services.

The project also involved the design and construction of a left turn lane that required the widening of Scotch Road. Van Cleef Engineering Associates also managed the construction of the project on behalf of Mercer County, providing all construction support and inspection services necessary to complete the project.
